১।  জীবন গল্পের মতো হয় না কারণ জীবন গল্প থেকেও বেশি গল্পময়। জীবনের গতিবিধি ভীষণ চঞ্চল কখনো সেখানে জোয়ার কখনো ভাটা। কোনোদিন কাঠফাটা রোদ্দুর, কখনো ভরা বর্ষা, কোথাও অনাড়ম্বর বসন্ত। আমাদের জীবনে আমরাই সুনিপুণ শিল্পী। জীবন ঢেউয়ের মতো শুধু কিছু সময়ের প্রবাহ।

 কারও জন্য জীবন কিছু মিনিট, কারও জন্য কয়েক ঘন্টা আর কারও জন্য কয়েকটি দিনের আবর্তন মাত্র। এই কিছু সময়ই একেক জনের কাছে ধরা দেয় একেক ভাবে, বিভিন্ন রূপ ও রঙে। জীবনের এই অগুনতি ডালপালার গল্পই…জীবন যেখানে যেমন…একেকটি সত্যিকার জীবনের গল্প।  মানুষ গল্প শুনতে ভালোবাসে…জীবনের রোমাঞ্চকর গল্প।

 নিজেকে সে গল্পের একজন চরিত্র ভাবতে পছন্দ করে। অথচ তার নিজের জীবনে গল্পের থেকেও বহুগুণ বড় উথাল-পাথাল ঢেউ আছড়ে পড়ে। তার জীবন গল্পের থেকেও বেশি রোমাঞ্চকর এবং নাটকীয়। সত্যিকার জীবনের গল্পে আছে বহু রূপ, বহু রঙ এবং অসংখ্য বাঁক।

২।  সব গল্প আবার জীবনের সত্য ও সুন্দরের কথা বলে না,  বরং সেগুলো মানুষকে নিয়ে যায় অন্ধকার জগতে। লেখক আরিফ আজাদ একজন আলোর ফেরিওয়ালা। জীবনের পাতায় পাতায় ছড়িয়ে থাকা সত্য ও সুন্দরের গল্পগুলোকে একত্র করে, মশাল বানিয়ে তিনি আমাদের আলোর সন্ধান দেন। ইসলামি জীবনাচরণ সমৃদ্ধ সাহিত্য যে বাংলা সাহিত্য নয়, বতর্মান বাঘা বাঘা সাহিত্যিকদের এই মতকে, খুব সুন্দরভাবেই ভুল প্রমাণিত করেছেন লেখক।

অন্য ধর্মের বন্দনা এবং সমাজতন্রের আলোচনা যদি বাংলা সাহিত্যে হয়।  তবে ইসলামি সাহিত্য কেন বাংলা সাহিত্য হবে না, তা কে জানে। ইসলামি জীবনদর্শনকে উপজীব্য করেও যে সাহিত্য হয়, তারই নমুনা… জীবন যেখানে যেমন। এই গল্পগুলো সাধারণ মানুষের জীবন গল্প… একান্তই সহজ – সরল যাদের পথচলা এমন কিছু মানুষের গল্প। বর্তমান সময়ে মানুষকে যত ভাগে ভাগ করা হয়, সেসব নির্বিশেষে একেকটি মানুষের গল্পকেই মুখ্য করে তুলেছেন লেখক।

৩। একজন সদ্যজাত সন্তানহারা মাকে যখন তার সন্তানের মৃত্যুর জন্য দোষারোপ করা হলো, তখন তিনি নিজেকে এই হাদিস দ্বারা সান্ত্বনা দিলেন,
“আবু মুসা আশআরি (রা.) থেকে বর্ণিত, রাসুল (স.) বলেন, ‘যখন কারও সন্তান মারা যায়, তখন আল্লাহ তাআলা ফেরেশতাদের ডেকে বলেন, ‘তোমরা আমার বান্দার সন্তানের জান কবজ করেছ? তারা বলেন, হ্যাঁ। আল্লাহ তায়ালা বলেন, তোমরা তার কলিজার টুকরোর জান কবজ করেছ? তারা বলেন, হ্যাঁ।

আল্লাহ তাআলা বলেন, আমার বান্দা কি বলেছে? তারা বলেন, আপনার বান্দা এই বিপদেও ধৈর্য্য ধারণ করে আপনার প্রশংসা করেছে এবং ইন্নালিল্লাহি ওয়া ইন্না ইলাইহি রাজিউন পড়েছে। তখন আল্লাহ তাআলা বলেন, তোমরা আমার এই বান্দার জন্য জান্নাতে একটি প্রাসাদ নির্মাণ করো এবং এর নাম দাও ‘বাইতুল হামদ’ তথা ‘প্রশংসার ঘর।’ (তিরমিজি সূত্রে রিয়াজুস সালেহিন, হাদিস নং : ১৩৯৫)

৪।  কাজের চাপে সপ্তাহে মাত্র একটি দিনই দুপুরে বাসায় খাবার সুযোগ পায় স্বামী। সেই একটি দিনেই আজ কয়লা-পোড়া রোদ পড়েছে, উনুনের মতো গরম যেন আগ্নেয়গিরির তাপ লাগছে গায়ে। তার জন্য ভালোমন্দ রান্না করছে তার স্ত্রী, কপাল বেয়ে ঝরণাধারার মতো ঘাম ঝরছে তার। গরমে হা-হুতাশ করতে থাকা স্বামীর জন্য তার কি চিন্তা।

 তাই তো ফ্যানের নিচে ঠান্ডা হাওয়ায় বসে থাকা স্বামীর অস্বস্তি কাটাতে, বৃষ্টির জন্য দুআ করছে জ্বলন্ত চুলোর পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা স্ত্রী।  কি অবিশ্বাস্য ভালবাসা, কি অনুপম মায়ার বন্ধন, তার সে দুআ করা মাত্র কবুলও হলো বটে। জ্বলন্ত সূর্যকে মেঘ এসে ঢেকে ফেলার পরেই নামলো অঝোর ধারার বৃষ্টি।

৫।  তিনি একজন টুপি- বিক্রেতা। সারাজীবনের কামাই এর সঞ্চয় করা টাকায়, কেনা জমিতে একটি মসজিদ বানাবেন, এটিই তার একমাত্র স্বপ্ন। জমির পুরনো মালিক একদিন বলে বসলেন মসজিদ বানিয়ে কি হবে? তার মৃত্যুর পর ছেলেমেয়েদের কি হবে? কি করে খাবে তারা? সেদিন উত্তরে তিনি বলেছিলেন, আল্লাহ তাআলা বলেন, যে আল্লাহকে ভয় করে, আল্লাহ তার জন্য কোনো না কোনো পথ বের করে দেবেন।

 আর তাকে (এমন উৎস থেকে) রিজিক দেবেন যা সে ধারণাও করতে পারবে না। (সুরা ত্বালাক: আয়াত ২-৩)। ছেলেমেয়ে যেহেতু হাত-পা নিয়ে জন্মেছে তখন আর খাবারের অভাব হবে না। আমার টুপি ব্যবসাই সই। বেচা-বিক্রি কম হলে কম খাবো, তাতে কোনো সমস্যা নেই। যে রিজিক আসমান থেকে আসে তার জন্য এতো পেরেশানি কিসের? সত্যিই তো তাই।

৬।  আমরা এখন একটু বেশিই আধুনিক হয়ে যাচ্ছি।সব কিছু হয়ে যাচ্ছে ভার্চুয়াল। সাথে সাথে আমাদের অনুভূতি গুলোও যেন ভোঁতা হয়ে যাচ্ছে। কর্মময় জীবনের ব্যস্ততার শেষে, একটু সময় পেলেই আমরা সামাজিক জীবেরা ঢুকে পড়ি নীল সাদার জগতে। যেন আমাদের অন্যের জীবনের প্রতিটি বিষয় জেনে আপডেটেড থাকা, এবং হাসি কান্নার ইমোজি দিয়ে নিজের মতামত প্রকাশ করা খুব জরুরি।

 অথচ সেই আমরাই আবার নিজের বাবা মা, ভাই বোন, সন্তান এমনকি পাশের মানুষটির সাথেও কথা বলতে আগ্রহী নই, যেন তারা কিছু বললেই মূল্যবান সময় নষ্ট হয়ে যায়, সব ক্লান্তি এসে ভর করে। কিন্তু তারা যে আমাদের সাথে দুদণ্ড সুখ দুখের কথা বলার জন্য কতটা, মুখিয়ে থাকে তা আমরা বুঝি না। যদি বুঝে থাকি তবে এখনো কি সময় আছে ভুলগুলো স্বীকার করে তাদের কাছে ক্ষমা চাওয়ার?

৭।  প্রতিটি মা তার সন্তানের জন্য প্রায় দশ মাস সকল কষ্ট উপেক্ষা করে,  অধির আগ্রহে অপেক্ষা করে থাকে। সন্তান জন্মের সময় যদি এমন অবস্থা হয় যে, শুধু একজন কে বাঁচানো যাবে, তখন মায়েদের শুধু একটিই চিন্তা থাকে, আর তা হলো সবার কাছে সন্তানই যেন তার ওপরে প্রাধান্য পায়।  মা না থাকলেও সন্তান যেন বেঁচে থাকে, এ পৃথিবীর আলো বাতাসে। নিজের সবটুকু উজাড় করে যেই মায়েরা আমাদের বড় করলেন সেই মায়েদের আমরা যথাযথ মূল্যায়ন করছি তো?

৮।  যেই লোক টাকার অভাবে উপায় না দেখে,  নিজের ঘড়ি বন্ধক রেখে পরিবারের জন্য,  মুদি দোকান থেকে জিনিস পত্র কিনেন। সেই একই লোক আবার সন্তানের মুখে এক ঝলক হাসি দেখার জন্য, নিজের জমানো টাকা থেকে সামান্য পতাকা কেনার জন্য, দুই হাজার টাকা দিতেও কুণ্ঠাবোধ করেন না। সন্তানকে খুশি রাখার জন্য বাবারা বুঝি এমন পাগলই হয়।

৯। এখানে শুধু কিছু গল্পের মূল বক্তব্য তুলে ধরা হয়েছে। একেকটি মানুষের একেকরকম গল্প, একজন পাঠকের মনকে প্রবল ভাবে ভাবিয়ে তুলবে। গল্পের মাধ্যমে বর্তমান সময়ের প্রেক্ষাপটে আমাদের আচার-আচরণ, আবেগ, আদর্শকে বিচারের কাঠগড়ায় দাঁড় করিয়েছেন লেখক। কখনো আমাদেরই গল্প বলেছেন, ভালোবাসার রং দেখিয়েছেন, স্বপ্ন দেখতে শিখিয়েছেন, কখনো আবেগকে প্রশ্নবিদ্ধ করেছেন, বতর্মান সমাজের চিত্র এঁকেছেন, কুসংস্কারাচ্ছন্ন মানুষদের দেখিয়েছেন, সত্যিকার আপসহীন আদর্শ মানুষের গল্প বলেছেন।

 বইটি পড়ে পাঠক নিজেরই প্রতিচ্ছবি দেখতে পাবেন। কখনো নিজেকে সেই চরিত্র ভেবে খুশি হবেন। কখনো নিজের ওপরই লজ্জায়, ক্ষোভে রাগ হবেন আবার জীবনকে নতুন করে শুরু করার প্রেরণাও পাবেন। এই সাধারণ মানুষের গল্পগুলোই আমাদের জীবনের সাথে সাদৃশ্যপূর্ণ কারণ আমরাও তো সাধারণই। লেখকের মনোমুগ্ধকর লেখনির ছোঁয়ায় জীবনকে নিয়ে নতুন করে ভাবার সুযোগ যেন, রহমানুর রহিম আল্লাহ্ সকলকে দেন। বইটি যেন আমাদের পরিবর্তনের আলোকবর্তিকা হতে পারে, আমিন।
